About the Trail
Mount Fato (or Bato): Stands at roughly 1,420 to 1,468 MASL (meters above sea level). The name Fato is the local Kankana-ey pronunciation of the Tagalog word bato, which means "rock," referencing the large rock formations and rock-scrambling features at its summit Mount Kupapey (or Kufafey): Stands at roughly 1,607 to 1,647 MASL. Locals note that the traditional spelling in the distinct dialect of Maligcong is Kufafey (where 'b' sounds shift to 'f'). It is famous for overlooking the stone-walled Maligcong Rice Terraces and offering a prominent sea of clouds during sunrise
